If using as a sole purpose of a vertical jig rod, get a bottom reel seat. Makes a huge difference in my opinion. The one I just bought replaced a BPS Crappie Max Pro that didn't have bottom reel seat. And them lol tiny BnM reels are the ticket. Can swing em all day no problem. My wife commandeered my other one,.

Mike, Looks like a nice affordable fly rod.

Good find Mike. I have a Sam Heaton in 10’ with the rear seat. Great rod but let me give a warning. The rod you buy may not take well to overhead casting. I split the bottom section of mine when casting to a rising fish. BnM made good on it and replaced it and educated me in the process. I was told that the rear seat rods aren’t the same blank as the regular handle. They are made as light as possible to reduce the weight and because of that they don’t take the loading up generated when we cast a long rod. Made for dipping and underhanded pitching. I will say that i punish mine more than I should and haven’t had any issues in the 2 years I’ve had it. It does a good job keeping those bigger fish coming my way when I pitch into someplace I shouldn’t.
No worries there, wont be doing any sort of casting with this reel attached, pure 100% vertical dipping rod only.

I have a spinner on mine for the balance, works great for me. Need to handle yours sometime.
They are gone!
Didn't make it Wed due to family stuff, ran by yesterday and the only one left wasn't a rear seat rod but it was only $38. Probably should have bought it but I didn't.
I snoozed and I losed! lol
