You're on the right track. If you run the rods out the side, longer rods help. I use 6, 9, and 12' and rod holders that have sides and the rod can't be twisted when a catfish or bass hits. They aren't created equal. I use the Hi-Tek Extreme model and am very satisfied. A couple out the back and 2 or 3 out each side and you'll look like a seasoned pro. Thanks for the recommendation. Those Hi-Tek Extreme holders look good. I’m thinking of upgrading to a 3 pole holder on each side. I’ll have to wait to review the boat for appropriate riser height before ordering. Currently I only have 4 portable holders total. I was able to install a Bimini top to help with the heat. Looks like I’ll get one morning to fish mid September and then a few shots mid November so hopefully I’ll have good results to post.
