My parents have been spending winters on the St. Johns River in Astor for 19 years. They troll for crappie almost exclusively; 12 rod setup, pushing 4 and pulling 8 at 1 mph using 1/24oz jigs usually. They fish the river and lakes Dexter and Woodruff and sometimes George. They had another pretty good year as they usually do. I was only able to get down for a week to fish with them this year but it was a good week in January. They have the boat loaded and will be heading north to Indiana in a day or 2. God willing they will be back after Christmas to do it all over again! Here's a few of the highlights from this winter...

Looks like a great time, very nice fish !!
The finest gift you can give to any fisherman is to put a good fish back, and who knows if the fish that you caught isn't someone else's gift to you?"
Awesome trip!
Looks like a great way to spend winter.

Nice pics. All except the one with the IU sweatshirt.I moved here from Central Indiana, almost 30 years ago. Just retired two years ago, and can now enjoy our year-round fishin'. Safe travels to your parents, and, BOILER UP!
