Sat. on Monroe

I got to the ramp before day light. The lot was almost full. I had a hard time finding a place to park. Got the boat in the water and the truck parked. Got on board and turned the key....... NADA.... A dead battery on the motor!

Well I could jump it with the trolling motor battery or just use the trolling motor to head out into the lake. Going back home was not an option ! I trolled out into the lake. I was having some good luck in the area just off the ramp so why not try it again.

I hooked up at the end of the first pass. A nice one! I circled around and put another one in the box. By this time I was a little further down the lake than I liked so I headed back towards the ramp. The wind was starting to pick up and it was making it a little hard to control the boat. On the way back towards the ramp the rods went off a few more times. I was pushing my little electric at full speed. Maybe I should call it a day. I did a count of the box and found 5 nice size fish in there. That was a good meal or two. I headed in.

I lost one close to the boat and threw 2 back to grow a little more. I was off the water by 10AM.

The boat is back home and is charging up. Turns out I forgot to turn off the key the last time I was out and ran the battery down. Its charging up now.

Yep, I figured that single lane launch was going to be tough for the "weekend warrior" once word got out fish were being caught

It would not have been so bad if the cars with out trailer would have parked in the lot next to the trailer parking lot. But half of the spots were filled by cars without trailers.

It's a inevitable situation with only 1 ramp available at Monroe, thus the head-banging, always enjoy reports good or bad to gauge the fishing, & believe in the 1st come 1st serve philosophy, as well as the if it were made to happen.....

Nice catch Jeff even with the battery problems. You said it's the only ramp open, which one is it and where is it?
