Some fat and happy fish. Nice to see lake Washington starting early.

The weatherman said early thunderstorms, looked outside at 6 am & thought heck it's the long weekend, so stayed close to home & went to check if anything was happening yet with the speck bite. Started out with a broken rod tip, then both double jig set-ups were tangled like a birds nest, casting another rod, line caught at reel, snapped off & sent a road runner into the lake. That's right, what else could go wrong? 1/2 hr later all rods out trolling along, pole doubles over & bam a 14"er, all frustration gone & didn't have to catch another fish, but 15 would be the total for the morning. They were liking the crappie magnet body in pic...surface water temp 84 F & caught around 4 fish in each corner of the lake, so no concentration of fish in any 1 area....floaters in the entrance side of lake, along with 2 buoys to warn of shallow flat area placed by FWC, however, water's plenty high now. Never did rain & was quite pleasant due to cloud cover til' 11 am, then the heat drove me home.......Time to watch the NOLES!!

I'm thinking about going somewhere and giving it a shot....struggling to get motivated and make a decision.
Got plenty of projects to tinker with on the mud boat considering gator hunt starts wednesday and early duck season in a couple weeks, but itching to fish too.
Nice Jeff, now I know what I should have been doing instead of trying to catch crabs on Friday.
Great write up Jeff.....play by play..... Going to Monroe tomorrow...... Feeling lucky
