    Default Combo Gumbo

Anyone willing to divulge a rod and reel they might use for bass fishing. Don't need nothing fancy. My wife likes to bass fish but all I got is Crappie limber.

I like the standard bass pro shops pro series combos actually. They are about 40 to 70 bucks and I've had mine for a good 10 years. They've caught many many bass over the years

use your crappie stuff, use your 6 or 7 foot rods with your standard reels and your good to go. have always caught big bass when I was fishing for Bluegill primarily and never had an issue.

The Shakespeare Micro series rods in 7' I have do double duty in very fine style. At $18 and hang a good reel on it you would be set. And when she isn't using it, you got another speckin pole. Win/Win!

It might make feel better buying a multi purpose tool. If so a penn battle II in medium light 7' might be the ticket. If not a nice 2500 or 3000 size spinning reel of your flavor paired up with a Gander Mountain Advantix 7' medium rod when on sale for $19.99 or one of the Berkley lightning rods from Walmart would make a sweet combo. Another Sleeper Walmart has occasionally is the Ande graphite inshore rods for $35 or so. Thats what my wife has for inshore with a Mitchell 3000. Works well for her. And highly suggest the Power pro Superslick8. Amazing braid for sure. Nothing like regular PP.

Berkley Amp is a decent rod as well.
