    Default Saltwater = "Blackpoint"

Left out of the ramp at daybreak, had a plan....
Instead of HC, decided I'd head to "Blackpoint" = go north through RRB and
hang a right, follow shoreline all the way east then north then back east again, surely got to find some fish over there .....
Followed bank all the way to north end of Blackpoint, saw what I thought was some nervous water, stopped, threw out some cut bait ......
Caught a little 17"r = threw back, then caught an 18"r, decided I'd keep him and switch him out if I got a bigger one etc, etc ......

Reds generally hang around with similar sized buds, decided to move along till I came across some more a bit bigger ....

Kept going till I saw some promising activity, stopped, threw out cut bait = NADA...... After a bit decided to move along and cranked up boat =
    WHAM ! ! ! ! ! !
Water literally exploded about 30ft in front of the boat ! ! ! !
Big un's probably 40" pluses .... Probably ten or fifteen of em, took off back from where I just came from....
Motor cranking up freaked em out etc, etc, etc ......

Quick like a rabbit I took off to go way around em and set up and wait for em to come to me .... Dug out my crabs, cut em in half baited up and set poles out....

Bout five minutes one pole bent over, I grabbed it, I knew I was in for a fight with one of these big girls = it was on ! ! ! ! !

For thirty seconds ! ! ! ! ! Then she let go, apparently the hook never got to set (circle hook), it was a tug of war then she let it go ....
And they took off again, I threw back out and waited but they was gone.

I finally went looking for them again but they must of headed for deep water. (I was in 2.5ft water) .....
I moved a couple more times but it was over for the day, for me.

Original plan was to fish Blackpoint then when the sun got pretty good overhead and I'd got my limit of redfish (one, LOL) I would return to RRB and get that other anchor = got back, was blowing pretty healthy and there was a boat parked right over my anchor, fishing...
So, came home with my little 18"r ......
Water was pretty clear, no problem seeing bottom etc, etc, etc ......
    That is all.
    Have a nice day
