Had a great day with my fishing partner and son. We set out to catch a few slabs, but got a little sidetracked when the bass were wearing us out. Long line trolling as always, we got a few slabs, and many bass, unlike yesterday they had a preference to any jig with blue on it, the bass have been out in the deep water slab grounds and were hitting the panfish jigs like they had not eaten in weeks but would not touch larger offerings. We ended the day with 10 nice slabs over 10 inches, and about 18 Bass up to 2 pounds. Seems the Slabs have moved from the area I was catching them. Time to move down to Canoe Creek for a few weeks before Toho lights up like a roman candle.
A 2 pound bass caught on an 18 inch ice pole or a 12ft Crappie rod is a fun time!
Here are a few of the pictures from today

Talked to couple guys Sunday - they were long-ling over top of hydrila in cypress in front of Canoe - they were
hitting good
The deep water in the southeast corner of Cypress was good a few months back also. I think many overlook Cypress due to all the airboat traffic, I will be on Cypress Sat.

Other than Air boats - its not all that much pressured.
There are some good spec's in there. Have you ever been up in "pencil reeds" to jig for them ???
Have not done that in a long time. Work kept me up north when they would be up in there, Might jump on it this year.
I usually troll Canoe Creek when I am down there, best day I ever had was in there. lost count back in the 80s and ended up with 87 in the boat when I got home. If it is slow up there I hit the lake.
