I got up a little late this morning. These cold nights sure make sleeping in easy. So banker hours again. I hit the ramp around 7:30 and it was 45 degrees out and the water temp was 62 deg.

I looked around and saw a group of boats over by the OPP, so off I go. I set up and made my first pass. NOPE !! Nada. I pulled the rods and moved into position for an other pass. I looked around and thought that it might be better to try something different. I kicked the trolling motor in and pointed the nose in the direction of stone island. The trip across the lake produced nothing. As I got close to the island a rod goes off. First fish in the box. I made a wide circle and moved over the spot again. This time three rods go off. Now I have my hands full. I boat the first fish and drop it on the deck and reach for the second pole. I boat that fish then go after the third one. All three on board. I had two keepers in that batch. I make the turn and head back over the area again. Much to my pleasure, it happens again. Three rods go off again. I do the rod dance again and I boat the fish. This is getting to be fun so I turn the boat around and make another pass.

I kept doing this until things slow down. I threw back way more fish than I kept but there was good action. I checked the time and saw that I was running later than my normal quitting time, so I give Paula a call to let her know I was running late. I pointed the nose of the boat towards the ramp and worked my way in seeing that I got the OK to be out a little longer.

The morning got off to a late start, was slow at first but picked up to some fast action when I changed location. I brought home 9 nice keepers.
