Hopefully his place is ok. Ginny is trying to get hold of Danny.
OK guys ! ! ! ! ! ! !
Just got power back on = 4 days without power ! ! ! ! ! ! !
Everything OK here, tree branches down, no power or phone/internet ...........
Several places weathered rather bad but we and close neighbors did OK ........
Lets get back to fishin ! ! ! ! ! ! !
Alright! Good news.
Ha !
Well, I did have my 2-meter handy talkie, and we did use em the night of the storm (had Hams at all the emergency shelters)
But, I had to take my 10-meter vertical ground plane down (22ft high) so the winds wouldn't break it etc, etc .......
Oh, yeah, I had my generator going = It'd run for 15 minutes then shut down as if out of gas, I'd crank it back up, it'd run
bout 15 min then shut down again.
Neighbor across the street loaned me his (when power goes out around here, those guys on the other side of the street
always have power) = it saved me a lot of cranking , then messed up = wouldn't crank, I go back to cranking
mine every 15 minutes ....
Oh, we had power all through the storm till daylight the next morning = then, the power went out ......
Finally got to fixin both yesterday morning = neighbor's needed new spark plug, mine = had to take off carburator bowl,
take out float/needle valve, blow out holes, put all back together = runs great = then, we get power back lol ........
It was a good blow for sure, little scary at times .........
Wow, we made it through that with pure luck & prayers. Lots of tree damage & debris, took 1.5 days of cutting trees just to get to my house.

I live on a 1 lane dead end dirt rd so it's only 3 house that need to get in & out. We finally got the rd cleared enough for power trucks & they have been
repairing poles & lines, removing the tangles of trees. Finally got power last night at 8pm, houses faired good, lost half of the roof on my shed & my neighbors
weren't so lucky. 1 has weather head & fuse panel ripped off the house & other has trees in the side of it but we all made it. It will take a while for the clean up
but we've been through it before. Thanks for checking up on me & hope to be fishin soon if they don't close the waters.
I'm so glad I don't have to fight the cat over the litter box anymore too !!http://www.crappie.com/crappie/image...s/big-grin.png
Great news Brian.
Yep, we were very fortunate over here...
Finally got the house back in order, thank God we didn't lose any roof tiles ....
Your lawn boy missed a leaf in the drive!
Good to hear everyone is safe! :ThumbsUp
Danny your house photo reminds me of the photo of the 10 pound shrimp you caught a few years ago.... :biggrin
Ginny
Mornin guys (Ginny, Mike, everybody) .........................
Is Thursday morning, I'm still yawning, getting first cup of coffee etc, etc ......
Nice to see Fishergurl back in town, Terry to come along soon ...............
I guess I'm going to take neighbor kid to Scottsmore in the morning, looking for Reds.....
He's not that thrilled with Speck fishing (fish too small) and that's OK with me, he'll
just have to sit at home more ........
But, I do want to see if any Reds are out and about ..........
And, that's "if" the winds are below 10mph ................
My little boat don't like windy days for sure .............
Bought two more shrimp lights so will have plenty of lights for the shrimping this year ......
Cooking a big old roast this morning to make me some roast beef to snack on instead of
tater chips and p-butter, wanted to of lost a lot of weight by this time of year but something
always comes up and interrupts my exercise routine and there I go, is really depressing to
be getting older and fatter ..........
The one good thing though = I'm still beautiful ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! lol ..........
Have a nice day everybody .................
Danny
Hahaha... and you are still hilarious. I've been catching flounder with mud minnows tgat got flushed out from all the rains, since I got back only I dont know how to clean them so I've been giving them away. Have two in the fridge on ice right now and watched a few youtube videos so going to give a shot at fileting them this afternoon.
Terry got his C of O, and passed the health inspection (yay!) at the restaurant he's building in Philly so he will be home in a couple of weeks.
Hi to everyone and hope you all weathered the storm.
Wheres CrappieGirl?

Them flounder 12" - about 18" are absolutely great headed, scaled, stuffed and baked if ya cant manage to filet them. If ya aint got an oven in camper big enough, wrap in foil nice and tight and put on grill. Dang if I would be giving away flounder.
Oh that sounds good! I'm going to try fileting one and if that doesnt work I'll try what you mentioned.
Here's some pictures...
Mud minnows boiling the water. Some guy on the sea wall didnt have a net so scooped them out with his hands. There were hundreds of thousands of them on Saturday and Sunday after the hurricane. The fish and gulls were having a proper Thanksgiving type feast.

So this is sort of hurricane related since the hurricane is what flushed them out of the mangroves.

Nuttin wrong with that! Them big Northern Fluke doormats should be making an appearence anytime.
It wasnt perfect but I did it. Watched a 2 minute youtube video a few times. Used a really sharp german solingen steel knife and got some filets. Will have to watch some more videos to figure where to cut near the head better. Would rather eat this fresh but put them in the freezer til Terry gets home. Gotta love Florida (I'm a native... :-)

I never cleaned any fish before in any way so Im sort of psyched! Thats what I kept Terry around for... lol. (JUST KIDDING DANNY SO DON'T YOU GO BLABBING THAT TO HIM...[emoji12] )
Ginny
HA! Get R Done Gurl! Way to go! I know guys that aint got enough stones to try and filet a fish. You done just fine!
Mine will help clean a deer, but the fish are up to me.
Looks like you did a pretty bang up job for the first time trying!
Moms house on the island got hammered a bit, needs new roof due to wind damage and some drywall ceiling repairs in the garage and patio. Worst part was the entire yard filled with tree debris two feet high / took 4 days to get that stuff up and to the curb. a four foot tall pile of debris down the entire length of the front of the house. That wore me the heck out but sure felt great being able to handle that for Mom.
Thank the Lord for the forest area behind her house. Trees almost two feet thick were snapped in half all over the place but acted as a wind break from the house itself, and spared it from real serious damage. Back out during the coming week for assorted odds and ends but overall I am EXTREAMLY Thankful.
Can't say I'm exactly thrilled about the whole unemployed thing but everyday is a blessing and my spirts are getting higher.
Glad to hear everyone made out ok, that storm sure looked scary on the way up.
A jog to the east at the last hour.... sure sounded wonderful.
I think once I get over the sore feeling from head to toe, I've earned a fishing trip or two over the coming week/s.
Time to get out to the garage, dust the ole ride off a bit, and enjoy some pole rigging and maybe just maybe....... some WEEKDAY FISHING around the corner 😊
The sun rising over the trees.... the deep breaths of life I live for are going to be just the ticket!
A few tears too I'm sure..... the tears of joy of life itself.
