Another Hot day, Specks getting ready for the rains

Just like yesterday I hit the lake, started to get my lines out when I was putting the second pole in the holder, Bam, first pole doubled over, Biggest of the day at 14 inches. Had high expectations after that. The rest of the morning was spotty. The area that I got them in yesterday was only getting scattered fish Mostly bluegill and shellcracker. They were hitting all colors I had, light, dark, straight tail, swimming tail it did not matter. After 2 hours I decided to move closer to the shore and that was a good move, the Specks had moved in withing 50 yards of the shore. Wonder if they are getting ready for the rain that is headed this way. That was the only explanation I had. The water there is about 6 ft, where I was getting them yesterday was 8 ft. Hope we are not in for that much rain

Ended the day with 23 keepers, Have several people who have been asking me for some filets so I kept them. Lost 4 at the boat and 2 were throw backs, 12 big bluegill(Let them all go) and 15 Shellcracker (They lived to fight another day also)

Good fish, real nice gills. Your freezer has to have more fish than mine.
