The area nearby called Mosquito lagoon is a good area for very large redfish as well as the small tarpon and also sea trout.
Also the Oak Hill area is a favorite for shrimping. As for the conchs, I believe you will find its illeagle to posses live ones.
And beyond that be very carefull about even picking one up as they can inflict some serious lacerations.
Hmm, I did not ask, as I did not care (all were thrown back) but the guide we had kinda made it sound like they could be kept and eaten. Not sure, maybe he was joking, but he talked about how to cook them up! oh well. No lacerations received, and all conchs still crawling the sea floor.
When you have Conch fritters mad right the first time, they will be on your want list from then on. Just plain wonderful.
