Next morning got on US 1 headed to Key West about 8 am, was good that we saw a lot the day before. We stopped at Big Pine Key Visitors Center. Very nice retired folks were the volunteers and lots of info about the National Key Deer Refuge.

The Key deer is the smallest sub-species of the Virginia white-tailed deer. Population is around 900 at present. We didn't see one in the refuge, didn't help that it was noon time. BUT, we did see one as we were leaving right in the middle of the business section! lol

Please note: The photo of the deer is not ours.

While in Big Pine Key, we also had lunch at the "NO NAME PUB", Google for lots of more info. A fun place to go, food was really good, and we don't even drink!
In 1931 it was a General Store and Bait Shop. 1936 added a restaurant and pub. In the late 30's to increase business, the upstairs was converted to a "BROTHEL" lol
While popular with many, the venture FAILED after SEVERAL YEARS! It was reported that the FISHERMAN were better looking than the LADIES!

In this PUB, people have been stapling $1 dollar bills to the walls for years! They figure there is over $ 250,000.00 in $ 1 dollar bills on the walls of this small pub!
