Called Huntinslabs last night and we made plans to try for a repeat performance of his trip yesterday and he was nice enough to agree. I haven't moved the Other Woman in about 6 weeks and really needed to get out. Weather was supposed to be undecided but off we went to see what we could do. Picked Mike up about 6 and then the weather decided what it was going to do-----Rain. For hours. Trashed around close to the ramp til the sun showed up, put on some rain gear, and in a good steady rain we headed off downriver. The best part of this morning was the lack of other boats. The only others we saw were in a small bass tourney by the bridge. Easing along I hear him say"over there". I set her down and get ready to fish in the same place I had fished last time out, so I felt good about doing something right last time around. Out of practice with the jig n cork it took me a while to get with it but mike went right to it and stayed steady all day. Not as good as yesterday but fun just the same. As time went by the rain finally let up and the sun showed up just in time. I was pretty wet and getting cold and changed shirts and, mercifully, the sun came out. Now I'm good. Problem was along with the sun came the pontoons, big river runners and jetski's all throwing wake and making things different from the calm beginning we had. It's theirs too but I don't have to like being on a roller coaster and trying to fish. A little after that we had had enough fun and headed back. We had caught plenty of fish with Warmouth, 'crackers, bluegill of several varieties, a few bass and I got to play net man to about a 5lb whisker trout. We would have eaten well had we kept any but they all still swim for another to enjoy as we had. Thanks for showing me the way Mike, I had a great time. And sorry no pics, but no way I was dragging a camera out in that weather.
