Thanks again to everyone who organized this gathering and to all who cooked some great eats and great pecan pies as we appreciate it and had great time and good to meet some of the crappie gang....
THANKS Brian for the idea of this event and following thru with it.
We did have a few NEW members and guests show their support.
It was not the best fishing, with the wind coming across the lake and river in bursts which made the boat control unnerving to say the least.
The BIG fish did not show any monsters. Heaviest weighed was 1 lb. 07 oz. by our own SHUMEISTER, who was fishing with SLAB. CONGRATULATIONS.:cheers2
Who took pictures ?
I have a bunch of pics I'll post up tomorrow. I'm beat, it was a long day. I had a great time though. Met some members for the first time. And missed a few members as well. But it was a great day, particularly since shu caught the bigun.
And "d" is still a guber. Good to have you there as well. Too bad your better half didn't make it.
It was a fun day fer sure. Sorry I had to exit quick but also made plans wiyh my wife. It was a pleasure having you along today D. Great seeing everyone including Pontiac. Thanks Brian for throwing the event out there. Sorry you were forced to miss it Speckanator, if ya need something hollar.
Thanks and nice meeting you guys and Bryan thanks for the reminder and the invite. Nice talking to you there slim, I mean Slab. Enjoyed the day and thanks again.
Sounds like everyone had a good day. I thought of y'all as the winds pushed me around while at work. Sorry I didn't get to meet those of you I haven't met, I sure wanted to.
You got that right about the wind as we actually had to go to the Sanford marina(because we couldn't make it back across the lake due to the huge waves) as we launched at Lk. Monroe park and headed to the southeast side at 6:45 am to my favorite spot and fished a coupe hrs but when it was time to start heading back when we noticed the wind picked up drastically there were 2-3 ft swells as i felt like i was in the ocean and had huge rollers coming over the bow of my lil 17 ft tracker so was forced to park for an hour at the Sanford marina(and loose valuable fishing time) until the wind died a bit as by far that was the biggest waves ive ever been in in my lil tracker was actually scary big waves but still had a blast and caught 8 crappie lots of warmouth bass a catfish and a 2 lb. bass so the fishin was still great for us Attachment 234970
Looking at the above pic I'm glad I was in Slab's boat and not my tracker(also 17') Slab thanks for the ride and it was nice to watch you catch more than your limit again. Good food and new folks we need to do often in the fall.--shu
Sorry I missed it. Hello there D. Catch up next time. with my ear condition I think it's best I missed the waves.Glad everyone had a great time.

Pics coming this evening. Sorry but I've been distracted catching up on things (dang, you take one day off fishing and boy the things pile up). Plus my back does not feel real great after that bouncy bouncy party we had on the water yesterday either. And now going to Oakwood for some early ribs with an LA gewber and his better half. yum yum
It was tough at daylight I did the same, went to the south side and it was getting rough then, force me to the I-4 bridge to break the wind and it was even tough there. Caught 10 there kept 6 for the munches. Nice meeting the ones there and great grub.
