    Default Hmmm feeling salty

Think I will go see whats happening up the Tomoka River this Saturday. Maybe try and hit up some saltwater Specks. All the reports coming out both lagoons seems pretty dismal. Seems water quality is horrible and grass flats all but gone. Shame what has happened to the entire system over there. And goes all the way down to St. Lucie inlet and offshore. Mght have to start traveling up to Matanzas inlet area and poking around a little this year as well.

I'm not taking my rig anywhere close to brine. The hardware isn't up to the stuff and I'd be better off just getting something to go there with. Been looking at 16' jons with 25hp as s starting point. Lots of skiffs for sale but I can't get close. Good luck when you go. Speaking of salt water though, I'm ready for the Oyster Bar when you are.

I think you are going to see a surge in skiffs for sale if the lagoon does not recover real quick. Doubt that will happen tbough. Already seeing posts of guys contemplating selling skiff to get a bay boat to run the beach and dock fish the intercoastal.

I know the feeling Ed. Been several years since I have been over there on a regular basis, and only fished Tomoka 2 times. But hopefully I can get some pics of something. Oh and the Tomoka is a great place for kayaks too.

Guy at work went Saturday, started in Edgewater and moved to Oak Hill. Got 2 gallons in box net but said it was too dirty to see them to dip, much beyond a foot deep.
