Help for a friend fishin around Lakeland

A friend of mine and a new CDC member is fishing around Lakeland and looking for advice. They fished Agnes and Hunter today with no luck. Any tips would be great. Thanks.

i am assuming they have a boat -
try fishing Rochelle on the Winter Haven Chain
use minnows - mylar type jigs - (hot pink )(orange)(red)
spider rig with /without bobbers along edges of reeds on first pass,
second pass move out about 50 ft do it again, and again -move slowly

Phillips marine on Hwy 92 should have about all equipment needed to start out.

I haven't fished down there, but lookd like alot of good areas to drag some paint off jigs.
