I never fished there at night. Daytime fishing could always be good and always was much quieter than most everywhere else we fished back then. We used 5' 2" baitcasting rods so that we could cast underhanded to get up under the boathouses and present to the Bass we could see way back in the shade. Learned to skip a plastic worm that way. Had some absolute monsters come out of nowhere sucking up a worm 10' or more back inside the shade. Tough on your nerves but it always kept us coming back. Used to fish the dropoff between Dinky Dock and the college on lake Virginia. Seems baitfish liked to hang out there along with the predators, including the Sunshine Bass. About burned up an Ultralight drag on a few of them.

No what you mean i have trolled crank baits for crappie and can't keep the bass off of them i think the problem with the whole Maitland chain is it full of eel grass and i think it makes the deep holes real inconsistent plus there's deep holes all over the place just my thoughts could be way off

Must be pretty cool sittin on them small residential lakes at night watching the area go to sleep. I work in Winter Park and wish some of those lakes had a little bank access. They are nice lakes.
