That sucks on both counts. Surprised a gator was out that cold. He shoulda been holed up in the mud.

Thought id post this for someone else to not have the same disaster on the lake i had sunday afternoon,Well the son wanted to go for a freezin cold boatride on sunday and as much as i didnt want to go in the freezing cold ,well i took him,UH OOO.First trip acrooss the lake straight from the ramp we proceeded to slam into a HUGE Alligator and well he is no longer with us i imagine,But heres the biggie,as we were on our way in to end the trip we were cruising at 30 mh and the boat comes to a almost complete sudden halt with some carnage noise well i shut it down raise my motor and see that my prop has been completely ripped off along with the guts of the lower unit missing and the entire lower unit cracked in half-COMPLETE CARNAGE-So if your leaving jessup park and take a right and skirt around before you take a right to go around the corner to head towards soldiers creek about 500 yards out there is a really huge tree about 1 foot underneath the water completely non visible so just thought id give a heads up to others so noone else has this experience
ALSO IF ANYONE KNOWS ANYONE WITH SOME PARTS FOR A 1995 MERCURY 40 HP 4 CYL 2 STROKE ANY INFO IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!

Where is Jessup lake park? Is it that ramp next to the 417 on the North side?
Paint a piece of rebar and drive it in the stump with orange tape and tie a milk jug to it too.
Sorry about the impact. One of my Tennessee buddies hit a floating tree he didn't see til too late and did $3600 damage to an Evinrude 150. Lucky there was no damage to his boat, or yours. a slow ride back is better than a long swim. Hope you can find the parts you need.
