    Default Lake Talquin slow today

Just came in from 9 hrs. of fishing so this will be short. Only kept one fatboy today threw back three little guys back. No surface pops in the evening and the guy next to me had 6 live minnows down and didn't see him pull up any. I'll try tomorrow at 7 a.m. any advice will be appreciated.

Time on the water is best learning you can get. There are members over there that have helped many and will help you if you keep fishing.

where are you fishing on talquin. i haven't been out in about a week. i have been using a #7 split shot with a 1/16oz jig and adding another split shot when i see the bait and fish drop deeper on the screen, sometimes even two jigs and a #7.

That should be getting you down round 15 ft deep if you are casting out about 60-70 ft behind the boat. I like getting close to the bottom and fish with a 1/4 oz Litewire jig head or double 1/16ths with a # 5 when fishing in the channel. It all depends on how deep the fish are suspended. They seem to like that 15-18 ft range in the channel but don't be afraid to go deeper.....Just my

they seemed to be biting at 10 - 15 feet took all my splitshots off early. 1/16 heads yellow/white with yellow sparkly curly tails. caught one with yellow straight tail with two black stripes on the back. caught one on black head with dark gray sparkly curly tail. sorry about the descriptions still trying to learn the names of the different lures. I think the ones i call yellow are acid rain. caught 12 and kept 6 threw back 6 that were legal but not 12' which is my personal minimum size. Biggest one 1.6 lbs.!!
