Yeah well, it was a good attack plan, but we only got two! It was a windy day, well at least it started off windy. We could only fish the North shoreline. BTW, there are no fish on the North shoreline of Lake Yale. The winds slowed, and we found a couple in some deeper water. And by a couple I mean, I got one, and Billbob got one! That's it!
And OMG. The access to this lake requires a small portage through MUD! There literally was only a foot wide path through muck to get your boat through. We had to run trolling motor, use a push pole, and a paddle....and even then, we barely made it. The only reason we did not give up was that there was another truck and boat trailer at the ramp. So we figured if someone else could do it, we could make it too. Doh. I'm thinking that's way too much work for two Crappie. I can catch two crappie on Griffin!
You can barely make it out in the picture above. The canal literally ends.
Lake Yale ????? FWC told us:
Word was out couple months ago that a ramp was being rebuilt and it would be in
great shape by July..........
This doesn't sound good.! ! ! ! !
I sure as Devil hope not..............
But will look into the matter - post haste
Thanks for up date guys
Ramp wasn't the problem. It was fine. But we did hear from a local that they were re-doing the parking area.
The problem was the canal out. It was blocked by major vegetation that seemed to have been blown in by the wind, and starting to grow again! There were three places it was tight getting out. But one was almost impossible to get through. I thought I was gonna have to get wifey to airdrop us some supplies. I told Billbob we were gonna have to change his flight out. doh
Billbob likes risky maneuvers......remember when we put a gewber on the bank....![]()
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.
