Default Inlet Beach, near Panama City Beach

Going to Inlet Beach, in couple weeks, I will be fishing of off the beach. Someone told me they had a red tide, not long ago. My question is....will it still affect the fishing now? Its ok to eat the fish after red tide? I know this is a crappie forum, but I thought some of the Florida guys would know something about the red tide....any help is appreciated...

Red tide basically kills everything in the water. But tides wash it out pretty quick. I wouldnt worry about eating anything caught. Generally pretty localized and not horrible except the smell. Very high amount of ammonia in air while happening and of course the smell of rotten fish afterwards. Had a vacation planned and caught the end of a red tide upon arrival and the day we left another beginning.
