    Default Lake Henderson 12/26

Let me start off by saying success may have clouded my judgement. I've been doing pretty good on my home waters so I thought I could duplicate this success at a different lake. Well easier said than done!
I got abit of a late start getting there around 9am, strike one. I set out the 15 rod spread, and the rod starts bouncing, I'm thinking oh yeah. It's a mudfish. Strike two. The water was relatively clear probably had a good 6' vis. My long lines kept hanging weeds, so I went 100% tightlining. Hooked something decent, either a decent bass or a huge crappie, got off. Trolled around for abit caught a nice bass, and then got the skunk out of the boat landing a 13" crappie. By then it's around noon, so I headed to the ramp. I fished big Henderson, after hanging major weeds I trolled around in the middle in 14 fow, also had a couple other bites, baits that got hit were 4' down. I had a good stagger in terms of presentation depth. Trolling around 0.5 mph. A brief conversation with the locals indicated fishing has been pretty slow, the guy I spoke with said they got 4 all morning. I think the quality is decent by buying a bite was tough. Just throwing this out there for anyone preparing for the FCC tourn in jan. was toying with the idea of fishing, but I need to get better on different lakes. Other notes: this was my first trip to Henderson, water was clearer than expected, lots of bass busting bait in the middle of the lake, parking sucks- human frogger, huge gar rolling-that was cool, first mudfish I've caught trolling-not as cool. Overall I'm glad I went, will make me appreciate local scene, headed local tomorrow. Small fish beat no fish, especially with a 4 year old! Tight lines.

At timees Henderson is on and other times you couldn't buy a bite.
you will develop a love/hate relationship with it.
Henderson has some really good large spec's in it. Check back to last year
when Darryl took heavy 7 fish count - FCC report 11/22/14
Henderson - you work it slow, slow, spider riggin. Black/chart / hot pink /
    june bug, blue/chart minnow tip.
Big Henderson - Little Henderson - Spivey - Canal up to North end of Big H is
    good working weed beds

I have no experience there but that was a good report. When things get tough, downsize and slow down. It has helped me on tough days more than once.
