    Default Last crappie report

Went back to Newnans today after trying to launch at a ramp I found on Google maps out at Orange Lake (also connects to lake Lochloosa). I would have needed an airboat to make it out to the lake lol.

Same story as the other reports, trolled 1mph in the deeper water of 8/9 foot and a little faster at 1.5mph in the 5-7 foot of water. Forecast said 0% chance of rain but I had to go hide under the cypress about 9 this morning. Didn't keep count today of how many I caught but it was a normal day of throwing back a lot of 8-10" fish.

Big fish today was 2lb 2ounces and came on one of those hand tied jigs i just got in bubble gum color. Been really impressed with how they have been producing lately. I was skeptical of how they would do since there was no tail action but the fish haven't cared.

I've experimented with a lot of different baits lately on this lake and these fish have not favored one action over another, but rather certain color combos. Key in on that and you'll catch them all day long.

Last report for this week. Hitting the books.

I like the way you sped up in shallower water.

Start out in the middle in the 9 fow and go which ever way is easiest to go with the wind. I've fished all over the lake around the 9 fow up to 5 fow and have caught fish everywhere.
