I wasn't quite as early as HS was yesterday but I wasn't far behind. I was on the fishin grounds before the sun took to the sky. Started with 8 and ended up having 12 rods out covering all the bases I could figure out how to do. Had little in the box with any red in it but I faked it best I could. Electric Chicken still worked well, and a pink head seemed to help. On the overall I rated the day as slow but I caught enough to say it was a good day. Several would have made the cut had had any water in the live well but this was just a day to fish. Somewhere after 10:30 someone threw the switch and here come the wind, with a vengeance! I don't mind a little breeze but when you're crabbing 45* at times just to try and stay in control, or running 1.8 to stay straight it gets to where it just aint fun no more. I wrapped em up and stowed rods for the trip back and what a ride it was this time. I got to 28mph on the GPS and couldn't stand anymore. Rollers were common but a ways into the trip I noticed troughs developing and it was either stay like I was or slow down and crawl back in between the rollers breaking over the transom. I stayed with it and occasionally got some air making the trip rather "Sporty" as someone said a while back. Thankfully they weren't big enough to stuff the nose into one. Got back OK but I'm leaving a bit sooner next time, it just aint smart doing that when you're solo. The clicker said 24 when I got to the ramp and I'm sure there were 1/3 of those were cookin size. Good to get out, I'm looking forward to some of the "Geezer Breezes" Speckanator spoke of earlier in the week. Thanks for taking the time to read this.....Skeet
