At long last I was able to get up and get everything put together so that I could be on the water shortly after the sun. Calm winds and little traffic and temps right at 60* made for a pleasant start to the day. Pic was at the ramp facing East, and those clouds stayed for most of the trip. The fish weren't super busy but kept me going until I finally found an area that did better than most anywhere else. The fish in the pic was #4 and came close to the 13 mark and was the big for the day, though 2 others were almost the same. Catch for the day was 33 and 7 with shoulders made the ride home while anything under 11 went back. Neighbor was glad to take 3 of the 7 and was surprised to see them still swimming. Brownie points there.Around 9:30 the wind was noticeable and about 10 I had enough and wound em in. I ran a 12 rod assortment today with 6 spider, 2 with 3/8 and 3" curl tails, and 4 out the sides with spinners. Everything produced but the brighter colors were slower, I believe, because of the cloud cover that i had for most of the trip. Purple body and chartreuse tail was a clear favorite. Once again the spinners produced several good fish but I believe I need to go to a #2 hook as I missed several for no reason. Also lost a real goodun just as it came to the surface. All in all a fine trip though short. Battery gremlin showed his head, not sure if it's battery or charger, this week for diagnosis. Hope Y'all get out.......Skeet.
