    Default How's the Kissimmee bite?

Hey folks, been one of those times where life and work have gotten in the way of the important stuff...like fishing! Been a month since I've been out and want to go to Kissimmee this Saturday to get a good run on the engine.

Would like to longline, but don't mind hunting the gills either... Any hot tips or info you could share would be greatly appreciated!

Well took my mom to Kissimmee today, and at least I accomplished one goal....burn some gas! lol Harold hooked me up with some advice, and the area sure looked promising and the fishfinder was going off like crazy, but couldn't get any bites. Went back to my 2 honey holes in Hatchineha and was able to salvage the day with some action. They hit sliders, curly tails, baby shads, and 3 other bobby garland plastics. Pink/chart and black/chart were best colors. Another 5 - 7 degrees cooler and the action is gonna be great!

    A few for the pan...

    Default Hatchineha

Love Hatchineha! Seems I always do better there even when Kissimmee is doing well.

I think I'm gonna break down and get myself set up for spider rigging to drown some minnows. As I plug along, Ive found some spots at the various lakes I fish that hold speck in tight areas where the control would be better than longlining.

Went back to The Hatch yesterday with Mom and the bite was even better. They were pretty scattered and a lot of dinks, but good fun for the day. Was longlining a variety of rigs with no one style or color outperforming the others. One thing we did notice is the dinks were super aggressive on the bite, bending the rods in half. The bigger 10"+ specks were a much lighter bite, missed a few along the way.
