Stuck 6 gallons in the tank and went to Whitehair for the run to Hontoon. As I was told the river is high and fast and not many fish to show for the effort and no crappie. I have a story of the condition of anything in the boat that should have been emptied before this morning. Wet and covered and 2 weeks equals washing the mold off of every rod handle and seat and storage boxes with tackle that had standing water. I did find that I have 23 - 2 piece rods. I must have it bad. That doesn't count the 1 piece rods. That done i headed for the ramp. Was surprised to see a 25mph limit on the river, kind of makes my ride almost useless as it's barely on plane and suckin fuel at that speed. Had the thought to look for an 18 or 20 foot aluminum with a smaller motor. A pleasant ride from about 12:30 to 3:30 and had to meet the rest of the crew for dinner. Final catch numbers were 1lmb, 3 shellcrackers (orange bellies) and another variety of gill I didn't know and it was time to go. Stayed close and expenses low and came home with a smile, mission accomplished. I'll get to the crappie grounds soon. I hope.
