CHASTAIN-SEAY PARK/RAMP
On a recent trip to Gainesville, I stopped at the Chastain-Seay Park on the south side of Worthington Springs. It sits on the north bank of the Santa Fe River and seems to be pretty nice. Although the restrooms look pretty bad.
I was thinking about launching my boat here and spending some time cruising and fishing up and down the Santa Fe since I've never been on it but have heard about it all my life.
My question: Does anyone here have any experience with how safe is the parking situation at the ramp at Chastain-Seay?
It is really rural and while I want to think the best in these quaint, bucolic locations, I can't stand the thought of coming back to the ramp after a while of fishing and boating and finding my truck and boat trailer trashed.
Any experiences, good and bad, or tricks or tips for remaining safe at in this particular area would be appreciated.
A side note...my 9 year old grandson will be along so I have to take his safety into consideration big time.
Thanks.
