    Default Missing boaters on Talquin....

    Looks like sad news down here. A red boat capsized yesterday afternoon. One pulled from water is fine, the other two still missing. No details have been released. It's high and swift out there right now. Yall be safe.

    The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission is searching for two men on Lake Talquin. According to the FWC three men were riding on a red boat in the lake when the boat turned over.

    According to the FWC three men were riding on a red boat in the lake when the boat turned over.

    A good samaritan was able to save one of the men, who officials say is doing, "fine."

    The two other men remain missing.

    The Leon County Sheriff's Office, Leon County EMS and the Tallahassee Fire Department are all on scene along with family members.

    The names of the men have not yet been released.

    The dive team is expected to arrive shortly but officials say the search can take days.

    Lake Talquin's surface is 15 square miles.

    I was out fishing on the day of the accident, jan. 3rd, nearly all morning. the conditions were not bad at all. still a strong flow. the river down to about 25 feet, which is flood stage, but dropping. wind was east to ne, not that strong at all. lifejackets always!!

    Agreed. I was out yesterday too, and things were much improved over a week ago. Still a lot of water coming down on the east end. Not sure where the accident occurred.

    It's pretty rough still around Coes. Its a catastrophic event when a boat of any size capsizes, life vests may not help. The dangers of Talquin are usually exaggerated, but running when it is high is crazy. Especially, in the creeks and Northeast end of the lake. Stay safe everyone and prayers sent to those families. I hope the poor guy rescued wasn't the one driving and having to live with it the rest of his life.

    monday morning the two boaters still not found. it happened around coe's landing. river is still at flood stage. sad. life jackets! lifejackets!
