    Default What color of line

Hello just wondering about some of you great fishermen and women taste in fishing line, what color do you prefer. Does it not matter at all? I've heard some say it does but I have been catching them faithfully on clear and moved to green last week and I am still catching fish.

For years I used hi vis yellow and had a 3' flourocarbon leader when trolling. And I dont think that in 95% of time in our stained waters it matters. Now some of the clear water lakes I would not be without a flouro leader just for my own peace of mind. And single poling I use a leader as well or just spool up with straight flourocarbon. Might not be necessary at all, could be just pressed in the ole thinker from the years chasing spooky fish in the lagoon.

I use viscous hi vis 6lb for longline trolling. You can see hi vis better to detect line crosses and such.

Ranger I use mostly braid and some HiViz yellow mono. Have used Red, Green, Orange, yellow and White. Down here I can't really tell the difference. I do use clear mono for droppers on spidder rigs.

P-line.. Get a 3000 yard spool off eBay and save. Best line I've used.

never used hi vis tell last year. made the switch cus the old eyes can`t see the clear line as well. still use floro leader. i don`t think color matters in stained or muddy water, may make a difference in clear water.

I'm also on the Hi-Vis for the majority of my fishing, and the clear for a leader in the clear water. Here in TN the Smallmouth are known for being line shy and I catch some of those while pitching my jig at blown down trees. I think it has a lot to do with how aggressive they are at the time. I troll cranks during the summer with 10lb Hi-Vis and stay busy. Several folks I know use braid to troll and spider rig with and do fine, and loose less cranks in the process. I believe trolling generates a reaction bite so line doesn't matter. Where they aren't aggressive and have time to take a good long look at it you gotta use some clear. Good luck with it all.
