Have fished couple times, once up around hwy bridge crossing, spent two days up/down
river worked holes, drifts, lillys, back edges.................Nothing....

Worked the little lake that you can see off I-75 (believe it to be silver or someting
like that for full day - caught couple bass, war-mouths, blue-gills no SPEC'S

Floral City - Lower lake of 3 off 48 was petty good each time fished the area.
Couple of guys have prefished the Inverness area (Lake Harrison) center lake of
3 pool chain. Spec's have been pretty good up there.

Haven't spent much time up there in past couple years - been told water level is up
real good, which is pleasant thought.

Highly recommend to everyone to take the trip down the Rainbow and see how prestine a river can be managed if evryone does their part. And if ya go deffinately catch dinner at the Blue Gator.

I mostly fish the river around the bridge CR 476. There is a ramp at the fish camp there. Have done most of my fishing in the spring Feb 1. My best day say about 20 and nothing huge 10-12" range and a lot of big gar to contend with. The section that you were on goes to lake Russoe , now that place looks fishy with a lot of standing timber from where the old barged canal was being built. Deep channel and timber on the sides.

Thats where we went. Gotta be in the old side to get shade trees. But yes the new side is very sparse. We took the tube run 3 times and saw stuff we hadnt seen before. We try and go at least once every summer. Next time I am bringing the yak for a nighttime run to the headspring up river.

Withlacoochee back waters was the place long ago. Remember going there with my parents as a child, wish I knew where it was. Probably 60 years ago now. I can still picture the place but couldn't tell you where it was. Bass fishing. Rainbow River is beautiful. Wiki Wachee used to be until it was developed with houses. Used to go there before houses. My Dad and uncles went there when Wiki Wachee Springs was a cow pasture. Nostalgia!!

Went exploring out there myself. Just as Harold said awesome boat ride but few fish. I will still go back one day for the boat ride alone
