making fun of CNN here. friday morning an osprey attacked a crappie we were reeling in about 5 feet behind our boat. he got tangled in two other lines. had the crappie in his claws but dropped her when i pulled hard. he flew off unharmed. didn't want to lose the fish, but more importantly didn't want to harm the osprey. we landed the fish. the osprey hung around overhead, but didn't attack again. it happened so quick we failed to get a picture. would have made a great pic. fishing was very good. freeman creek looked like a parking lot with so many boats (didn't fish there). oh, we fished west of the iron curtain, and east of the dam. jim

Good post...........I was bream fishing last summer in some heavy cover when an owl came down and grabbed my bobber and off he went....the line broke almost instantly and he was still grasping the bobber....I wonder what styro foam taste like...maybe rice cakes UGGGGH!!

I have had this a few times, beautiful sight. To fast to react with camera. Still a beautiful memory. Thanks for sharing. If you think the other day at Freeman was a parking lot, watch out on boy scout, harvey, etc.. Ever drive a bumper car, get ready to do it today. I am going to fish for scattered fish for a couple hours, then work on my camper.

Years ago I was fishing from shore in a small harbor when a wood duck dove under my bobber and hit my minnow. He got the minnow, but he also got my hook in the leading edge of his left wing. Things got a little crazy, but I managed to drag him in. I decided the light wire hook was too far embedded to try to get out, so I just cut it off as close as I could, figuring it would do less harm than trying to get the hook out. He flew off without any apparent problems. I've wondered ever since what happened to that duck.

great video you should see all the osprey at blue cypress it seems like they are in every tree
