oh yea. The Astor area has been getting hit HARD the past month................ Dexter, Woody, George, St Johns river.................ALL lights out! Slab City!

Trolling (pending floating debris) or better yet dipping the pads has been excellent!!

PS. If your down here that long ............ you GOTTA take a day and drive over to Lake Crescent.... well worth the 15 min drive from Astor. (Check out "any" thread on the florida board with Crescent in it, or any post from Vic / anchorman)

Hope you have a Great trip! and good luck!!

I was down there last week and caught big fish in Crescent, Dead, and the River. If you are staying in Astor, you might want to fish the river from the 40 bridge to the jetties. The water in the river was warmer than the lakes and they will be outside or in the bonnets.

Thanks for the info. I am working on the boat rite now. I will have 7 rods set up for trolling this year. I can set them up for a 28 foot wide trolling rake. I did good the last couple of years with 5 rods, so 2 more cant hurt. I like pulling jiffy jigs 1/32 and 1/16 oz. Red head blue body and while tail is good and I also like Orange head green body orange tail. I have a bunch of colors but those have always produced for me. JC

    Default Astor

Where are the jetties? Are they north of the 40 bridge.
Any one jigging the pads in Woodruff or the river between there and Dexter?
Should be some fish shallow I would think.

I call them jetties but they are at the entrance to lake George. Fish down in the Jetty supports on the west side. The east side is shallow. If the weather gets bad go and fish the bridge supports of the Hwy 40 bridge.
