I want to go down and fish Crescent Lake but have never been there before. I'd appreciate any info about local motels that are "fisher friendly."
I will have my wife and daughter along so safety and security is important.
Thanks.

Lakeview Motel. Jean is great and very helpful. Resturant, Crestview, is open at 7:00am for breakfast and the Pizza place across the street, in shopping center has great food besides pizza. Have a great time.

try this web site. Lake View motel, Crescent city, Florida
You have two, Leonard's Landing and Lakeview. Leonard's is on the water with boat ramp and slips and Lakeview is a Motel and you will trailer your boat to ramp. I will be down there the week of Feb 9th and we are staying at Lakeview. Lakeview has nice facilities and the folks are very helpful. You also have Georgia Boys Fish camp near Crescent. It is on Dunn's creek which connects the St John river to Crescent. It is an 8 mile run from Ga Boys to Crescent. I will be at Ga Boys for a week in May but this is a trip seeking the world record Bluegill.

I stayed at Georgia Boy's the Christmas before last for 8 days with my wife and daughter and two little dogs. Great people and facility. The only drawback is the 8 mile run to Cresent but the river is just the other side of the bridge and there are specks in Dunns Creek too.
Y'all pretty comfortable with your rig being in the parking lot overnight at Lakeview from a safety and security standpoint?
I read some reviews on-line of Leonard's Landing and think we'd be more comfortable at Lake View.
There must have been 15 plus boats around the motel with and without rods and tackle. No problem. Mine was alarmed. No 100% guarantee, but seemed safe, but I still took precautions.

"Mine was alarmed" How do you do this Chuckauten?
I stayed at Leonard's last weekend with no problems, rooms are nicer on the inside that they look from the outside. Meet a few guys that have been stayin in there for a few months & a couple guys from Baxley GA stayed next to us. The guy that stays for a few months every year said he has been coming there for several years & never had a problem, he left his boat in the water loaded with all his gear? The guys next to us said they have been comin there for a few years & never had a problem & they had stuff all over the porch like they lived there & left their boat in the water loaded.
I have never stayed in the area & tried to go to Lakeview but they were full by the time we decided to stay up there. I have heard that Lakeview is nicer and cheaper but I would stay at Leonard's again.![]()

Like Danbo, I'm interested in how your rig was alarmed. Short of tossing an eastern diamond back in there, I can't think of any way.
