Played hooky yesterday at work (my boss don't fish so they won't see this post)> I had planned to go Saturday but when I got up the flag at my house was blowing straight out so I just went back to bed. Anyway I thought about going to Dead Lake but I heard everybody had been doing so good at Lochloosa that I changed my plan (since I still work unlike you professional retired guys) I wanted to go where I thought I had the best chance of catching some fish. So I take off work Tuesday since the weather report said light winds and it was 4 days after the full moon. Should be a great day! It was if you like catching sardine sized fish! I threw back 10 fish 7" or less (or possibly caught he same small fish 10 times)on six different rods with different colors of jigs. I was fishing outside the pads right where they should have been (but somebody forgot to tell them where they were supposed to be)! I go back to the ramp at about 2PM and I strike up a conversation with another crappie fisherman (I could tell by the rod holders) He says he didn't do so good either (here's when I start to feel a little better about not catching any keepers) Then he says he'll be back tomorrow. I tell him I gotta go to work. Then he gives me the gut shot....."Oh I'm done with That" So for all of you that are retired remember that a bad day fishing..... don't exist unless your boat sinks!!!
