Small world!
Skiff, maybe you and this guy can hookup. I got a similar PM from a guy in Kansas as a result of posting here. He was looking for crappie fishing. He will be near Destin week after next for a couple of months and this will be our 4th year fishing together. We really beat the water when he is down here, but as you know crappie close to these parts are scarce. I think he would fish 4 or 5 days a week if I could keep up with him. We snatch mullet, chase specks and reds, and do a little crappie fishing. This year I'm going to press him for his crappie expertise as he's an expert. In the past we had to fish what was availabloe. We plan to spend 2 or 3 days at Talquin. We have talked about it for two years and plan to make it happen this year.
Walton, let me know when ya'll decide to fish Talquin. I may have to meet up with ya'll on the water. I have a list of guys to "introduce" to Lake Talquin and to crappie fishing.
I will do that. My guess is it will be sometime in the last couple of weeks of January.
After I have a second cup of coffee this morning I'm headed out to Lake Stanley here in DeFuniak. It's about 100 acres and holds crappie. Got in an order of litewirehooks and grubs Saturday so I'm ready.
Just heard a river report on Ch 13. Caryville 10.87 and cresting at 13.03 on Wednesday. May as well work the ponds for the next week or two.
