Spring Trip Advise

Looking for some good help. I would like to make a trip down south for some good crappie and bass fishing. Thinking of Feb. or March is that a good time? If I flew into Orlando and rented a car, where would be a good lake within a hour or hour and a half drive from Orlando. Bringing the wife so I would want a nice resort and a lake I could get a good guide on. Thanks for any help you maybe able to offer!!!!
