    Default Talquin Report 11/1-11/3

I got here early Friday morning to 72 degree weather and a little bit of wind with a line of storms in the gulf moving our way. I went out for a couple of hours but didn't do much so I came in and set up housekeeping for the week. The rain started that afternoon and the front edge of the cold front started moving thru, so no fishing Friday afternoon. Saturday morning was some cooler and the water temp was down to 69 degrees. The fishing was slow but the bite was just enough to keep us interested. A little windy Saturday afternoon, but the bite picked up. We caught some good fish but no "Sho Nuff" Hogs... Woke up to wind and 48 degree weather this morning but the fish had lock jaw. Winds are expected to stay around for a couple of days so hoping by Wednesday the fishing gets back to the way it was before this front moved thru here. Looks like Wednesday or Thursday before the wind starts tapering off and looking good for Slabfest. I think that as soon as the weather stabilizes for a couple of days, the fishing is gonna be great!!

Wind like that is when you go back to the hill and prepare a cocktail.

I remember that this may be the reason the Whip was opened. I had two friends that went over to the Whip one day years ago to get out of the wind and rain. To this day they still have not figured out why the rain never did stop at the Whip when it stopped everywhere else..........

Looks like the weather we had there 2 years ago.

THE BEST TIME TO FISH IS WHEN IT'S RAINING AND WHEN IT'S NOT RAINING
