Attention all crappie.com Florida slabfest goers!
We would like to try something new this year that hopefully will result in increasing our attendance and be lot of fun.
We are starting the season off with a "points race". The idea is, folks that attend the Florida slabfests this season, with the exception of the November 10th super slabfest, will earn points based on the weight of their heaviest five fish. Flycaster, being the official weigh-master, will keep a tally of everyone's weights for the entire season. The person or team that has the highest collective weight for the season will be the points winner. Example: if a person or team fish every slabfest, even though they might not win the heaviest five at any single event, will still have a good chance of placing first by virtue of having a recorded weight for every slabfest. Hopefully that makes sense. The season will be October 2012 through March 2013. We will announce the winner(s) at the April Slabfest. At that time they will be presented with a plaque with the name or names of the winner engraved as well as a SUPER NICE prize(s). So, plan now to attend as many slabfests as possible if not all of them.

I think some more discussion is needed to be honest. 5 or 7 fish? Alive or dead. Start and end times. These are the things that can cause dislike to some folks from time to time, and create unhappy feelings going into our friendly hangout and chow session. My fear late arrivals........ I just want happy happy happy fishing folks, enjoying one of the few times we are lucky enough to get together.
Relaxed guidelines of some type would serve us well.
