prolly depends on the lake's natural food source supply
The finest gift you can give to any fisherman is to put a good fish back, and who knows if the fish that you caught isn't someone else's gift to you?"

Have bumped boats in the pads with guys using shrimp and been outfished for over 20 years, but that is in the pads or cane and only when they are shallow and biting well anyway. In deep water(over 6') haven't seen many guys using shrimp. Don't really like to 'dip' shrimp because of the SNAKES that like the same places.--shu

I have better luck with shrimp when they are in the pads or grass. But when trolling minnows hands down

Where do you find the shrimp, and how do you get them? I saw mention of dipping, do you just use a small mesh dip net or is there another method. I'm familiar with saltwater shrimp, but have never used the Freshwater ones. Please enlighten me
