Don't smell rancid????
If not should be good.
To keep oil after a fish fry, they say to fry up some potatoes, this is supposed to take the fishy taste/smell out of the oil.![]()

I fried a (1) turkey at New Years and I saved the peanut oil (filtered once cooled) in a cool dark place.
Can you reuse the oil to fry fish?
Headed on a fishing trip and was going to use it again for a fishfry.
Good idea or bad idea?
Thanks for the input

Bad idea.......You can reuse oil a few times for the same type of food, never for something diff.........atleast thats what my grandma taught me. if you plan on frying another turkey go for it, if not, I wouldnt use it.

I always use onions with each batch of fish. I agree with Southern Gun, fish grease, turkey grease. There is alwasys a taste with each food cooked and I would hate to see some good fish ruined at the cost of peanut oil. Windixe has it at $16.99.

Well there you have it. I was a little worried about an after taste. A little fish grease is cheap.
I use canola oil. Like it about as much and a lot cheaper.

Well me! I disagree. What did your grandma use to fry? Before all these different oils there was one. Lard from rendering hog fat. And that made crackleings. If it is not rancid, cook a piece of potato in it and will be fine. Fish are stronger than turkey.
Wear your PFD!!!!!
This is the day the Lord hath made, rejoice and be glad in it.

In SC everything gets fried. Good luck Nole, if you wouldn't add a can of turkey broth to fresh grease to fry fish in then don't fry fish in grease that a turkey has been fried in.........it's that simple. If you don't mind that it will not taste like the natural flavor of the crappie then you can reuse that greaseor any other type grease. It's all about preference......If you can afford to go fishing you should be able to afford $15.00 for a gallon of fresh grease..........Lord knows I spent a lot more in fuel, rods, reels, and bait to catch those fish. I'm not gonna cut myself short on the best part........eatin them.

SC I tend to agree with your statement and I am not going to chance it. New oil purchased. I decided I will fry a turkey at Easter and that way I atleast got two frys out of the peanut oil.
