3rd Annual Rusty Leverette Memorial Tournament
Lake Talquin Lodge will be hosting The 3rd Annual Rusty Leverette Crappie Tournament on April 13, 2013. This is a non-profit tournament with a 100% payback to the contestants. There will be 3 places paid out for 10 boats or 5 places paid out for 15 or more boats. Below is a list of the tournament rules. If you are interested or have any questions, contact Pat or Jared at Lake Talquin Lodge at 850-627-3822.
Date: April 13, 2013
Entry Fee: $100 per boat (1 or 2 persons per boat) Entrance Fee is CASH Only!!
Big Fish: $10
Registration: Must be registered and entrance fee paid no later than 6:30 a.m. April 13, 2013
Fishing Times: 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Weigh in: Must be in line for Weigh In no later than 4:30 p.m.
We will be weighing in 7 fish. All fish must be alive. If you have a weak fish or want to come in early, someone will be available to weigh the fish and verify that your fish is alive.
Live wells may be checked on the morning of the tournament.
There is a maximum of 8 poles per boat and 2 baits per pole.

What a fantastic tournament we had in memory of Rusty. We had some fantastic weather and even more fantastic people competing in the tournament. The weather was just a little chilly in the morning with some warmer temps and mild winds in the afternoon. There was a field of 18 boats with some top notch anglers competing this year. Thanks to all that participated and showed up for the weigh in. Also thanks to those that donated money and prizes for us to give away. This is how the top 5 places that won money rounded out:
1st Place - Danny Cannon and Gerald Manning 13 lbs 2 oz
2nd Place - Jared and Jason Leverette (LTL) 12 lbs 2 oz
CDC Members
3rd Place -Tim Fowler and Tim Johns 12 lbs 8 oz
Team TnT - CDC Members
4th Place - Curtis Hobbs and Dave Mitchell 12 lbs 2 oz
Hooker and Heavylead - CDC Members
5th Place - Jerry and Tillis 11 lbs 13 oz
The Big Fish was caught by Danny Cannon and Gerald Manning weighing 1 lb 14 oz.
The fish from the top 5 teams averaged about 1 lb 13 oz per fish. Surprisingly, there was not the first 2 lb fish weighed in this year. Thanks again to everyone that came out and we are looking forward to the next Rusty Leverette Memorial Tournament.
