Here is a question for you Crappie Pros. I and my two sons are planning our annual son/dad fishing trip. We load up the tent, food, firewood, etc. and head out for a long weekend. This year we are undecided as to where to go. My question is, if you had the choice for a once a year trip would you choose Monroe or Crescent? Also if you have another choice close to either or in between let me know?
Any info will be greatly appreciated as we are not Pros but simply ameture weekend warriors.![]()

Monroe is awesone, Crescent is specktacular - look at some of the recent pictures from Crescent, you'll see.
Not sure on the camping at Crescent though, Monroe has a nice park with camping.
The finest gift you can give to any fisherman is to put a good fish back, and who knows if the fish that you caught isn't someone else's gift to you?"
The weekend will be Feb 15~18. We are 126 mile north of Monro. 2.5 hrs. 1.5hrs from Crescent.
There is a State Park at Talquin for camping (Pat Thomas State Park) and as mentioned above, Monroe has camping...Not sure about Crescent, but all 3 lakes are great places to fish. Seems like Crescent has been giving up the bigger fish lately but all have big fish waiting to be caught. Anchor Man, or maybe I should say Eileendid very well yesterday on the Clermont Chain...... Now you are really wondering where to go, huh????

I vote for Monroe:
Camping, Great Lake and you're connected to the St John River, Lake Jessup, and Lake Harney. The wind is likely on some days of your stay and you will always have a good place to fish to avoid the wind.
Those other Lakes a great too!

Yes, I vote for any of them ......
