Moderated forum for members only

It would not be a secret to anyone that regularly submits fishing reports, just to those that read but do not post.
I met one of those folks one morning, he said he reads the forum but doesn't post, etc, etc, etc.......

I agree Danny, when I found this site I joined & started to be a part of it - why should people be able to reap the rewards of mine or
your hard work. I think it would be a good thing & if ya don't like it then go fishing & don't worry about what other people are doing.
I became a good fisherman because I spent the time learning & trying new things, so get your butts out there, spend some money on
fuel & use up some jigs. Get to know the water you are fishing not just what someone tells you & where to go.
Being a part of something means you contribute not just take.

I may not post all the details on where I catch and what I am doing because of those that don't share info. But I'll tell anything to those that are "active" members either in person, in a PM or a phone call. For instance, even tho I didn't know 65Pontiac that well at the time, he came to Talquin to fish last year and all I really knew about him was from his posts. I tried to give him all the info I could to help him locate fish and it turned out that he eliminated dead water and was catching fish in no time at all. Russ, in turn, did the same for me at Crescent. I am 100% sure that both of us have done that for many members on here and had info passed on to us that wasn't posted on thr forum. No, we don't need all that moderated forum stuff, or IM stuff and its not a "Click" thing. It's called CAFF....Courtesy Among Fellow Fishermen!!! I feel like I have made a good friendship with 65Pontiac by being courteous to him and several others on here. And they have been courteous and kind enough to share info with me even tho we are hundreds of miles away....So if they want to lurk, let 'em lurk....They are the ones missing out on the good stuff!!! well its been a while and it still isnt a sticky so i assume its not gonna happen. There are alot of the state forums that have this and they all use it anf get more views and posts than any sticky that we currently have. We have a sticky for cheese grits, why not this? Several members want it, the ones that dont do not have to partake. If this was forum was created i for one would be willing to give much better fishing reports than i usually do. Oh, and I am not knocking the cheese grits, I LOVE GRITS! I just think that a "members only report forum" would get a few more views and posts than a cheesy grits recipe regardless of how delicious they are, lol.

SYG: I had a request to post that recipe on here after we were served up with some DELICIOUS CHEESE GRITS at one of our events. I want to make sure that everyone that was interested in that recipe has time to copy it for their own files.
When a file is made a sticky, it does not become a permanent sticky, it can be removed after it has deemed to have served its purpose.

There is nothing wrong with the cheese grits recipe sticky, i never said there was. Some of the members here have requested that a sticky be made for a member only fishing report forum. I am requesting this to benifit myself and other members. Other members would benefit from my more detailed reports and I would benefit from their more detailed reports. Please honor our request as the moderator of this forum the way you honored the request of the cheese grits recipe. Thank you

Whether this topic becomes a Sticky or not, it is what it is till Slab does differently. He is aware of the interest and is trying it out on other forums. Just be patient...Our turn will come
