If you guys are so worried about someone getting something for nothing and being
part of the group - than start your own personal message chat room and go on down
the road. I don't really think Slap ceated this forum just to turn it into secret society.
If i were a sponsor or paying CdC for advertising and showcasing my goods, believe,
i might reconsider costs vs return. Trust me, this is primary reason this CDC company
was created - this is a business as well a learning thing, whereby, it is open to the
public for input and responses.
Thats my take on situation, so be it.
No arguments from me...But "Being part of the group" is the main thing that Slab and the rest of the members would like to accomplish...Along with "input and responses" and not just reading and not sharing....The more in the group, the more info and knowledge shared and the better for the advertisers, and the advertisers are paying the bills....Whether we have a Moderated forum or not, the best reports that I will give will always be on a more personal level...PM, Phone, Email or in person....Nuff outta me :twocents:twocents:twocentsQuote:

I must admit that I chuckled a few times as well. I think we'll get this extra feature at some point, but that is just my 2 cents. AND, I don't think it will change anything about how this site works. Other states have reported it to be successful so I am guessing that a handful of people are misreading how the private forum will work. Sounds like a minor misunderstanding.
If we created this new "Moderated Forum for Florida" it would certainly not be a secret society. The idea is to have a place members can post more detail about their fishing trips without having to worry about sharing it with others that do not participate at all on the site. No chitty chatty threads would be allowed there at all. Each and every thread would have to be approved by a moderator before members could see it. PM is OK for this, and so are phone calls. But over the years I've seen many members not want to post any level of detail about their recent fishing trips for fear that the whole world would tap into their success. Many like to share, but just assume that the good stuff they have to share, the good tips and information gets shared only with site participants, our c.c family. So nothing gets replaced here. Everything stays exactly the same. Only there is an additional forum to share detailed fishing info. It's worked out on some of the other forums well. They are even posting GPS coordinates without fearing the world will show up on those spots. Might be other friendlies there, like crappie.com'ers, but not the world!
So cool, this has been quite a debate here. I'm thinking we need a vote. I'm not going to put one up unless you all want it. That's always how it's been here. Grass roots, and it's not going to change now.

I apology for my typing errors, sometimes my mind is moving faster than my fingers,
and i fail to proof read thoughts completely. That being said, the human mind can and
does understand the meaning of any sentence whether spelling is correct or not. If a
person is being cretiqued for spelling and not the intent of thought, than i'll pass on
further contributions to the forum
