Here's the deal...my fishing calendar shows the specks turned on in Monroe the last week of September last year and the year before it was the second week of September, so with that being said I plan to hit pretty regular starting the second week. It's great to be there when they turn on. One day you'll catch 5 to 7 then bam
you're bringing in double digits in just a few hours and it gets better each day.
By the crappiepalooza on October 13th they should be bending three or four poles at once. Hope to see you out there.
Russ, are you going to do your annual October middle of the week MANCATION this year
?
Hope to do a couple of them. Maybe one the last week of Sept. and one the first week of Oct.
THE BEST TIME TO FISH IS WHEN IT'S RAINING AND WHEN IT'S NOT RAINING
Can't wait myself. Saw a baitpod being slammed while on the way home last week. Had not seen that out there in a long while. If the shad are moving in the Specks wont be far behind.
I'm ready........turn off the heat...... turn on the Slabs

Haven't really fished Monroe a lot, always heard the fishing gets good but hectic with all the people. I am going to try to make it out there more this year, especially for slabfest's.
The finest gift you can give to any fisherman is to put a good fish back, and who knows if the fish that you caught isn't someone else's gift to you?"
I got a big kitchen pass. I painted the whole house. Getting new wood floors. Getting gutters around the patio. The only problem is I have about 20,000 less hooks ready now than I had last year. Let's see....Paint Hooks or go fishing.......see you'all on the Lake.

Every day you do not fish will be one day less you have to fish
HAHA!! Yep full contact fishin at it's finest. Here is a tip for ya. Look for the Banshee Extreme with the guy running front to back and stay a ways from him. He is usually on a school of armored catfish!
Actually it is not as bad as it looks or seems. Everyone seems to stay away a good distance. Only had a problem with 1 guy in a flats boat that was trolling with his big motor and tended to pull up tight behind me, practically setting on my baits.
We're having a BIG party for all the owners of Banshee Extremes ! ! !
Everybody that has one is invited ! ! ! !![]()
