Lake Yale is another spot to try...the water has been low, but I think most boats can get through to the lake. Marsh Park has ample space to spread out in the shade for a slabfest. Just a suggestion and that is all.

Going to work on one on Lake George (south end) for next year. The launch is at the end of Volusia Bar road and has a pavilion covered docks etc. Problem, Volusia Bar road is sand and I worry about the winds on Lake George. But there are lots of fish on that lake.
Nice idea Andy. The wind could be a problem, but you aren't too far from a couple of other options in the river.
I thought the slabfest you hosted last year was splendid, with everyone asking what they could do tohelp including me. You were Great. I think toooo much emphasis may be put on organizing in stead of fishing and meeting one another, making it more work than it should be. Gosh, who says we have to fry fish at allof em, I man if you want to have a fest and host it on your home lake why not just hold up your hand and say come on over and after we all go uptown to such and such for a bite to eat and chat. No mess no fuss, just a good ole cracker get toghether causing no body any hard labor. Who says we have to have boat loads of food each time? Who says we have to have giveaways eachtime? I'm sure everybody would love to come over on a scheduled date and fish with you in your home lake. Just ask and coordinate it with john and mike so it doesslide on top of another. JUST MY OPINION

Well said CG1.
:donoThis whole time I thought the cheese grits & fish chowder were givin me good luck
but we don't eat til after fishin:scratchhead
Not saying those are not the ultimate slabfests with a lot of work by a lot of folks, but to have some mini fests inbetween by you guys that want to invite everyone over to your area to fish I think would be fun fun fun. Just a casual fish and greet and have a good time---Just sayin---dont see why we can't do that whenever it would be fun and we know the fish are biting Hot hot hot.
