Went fishing this morning, mainly to see how the water levels were in the Lake Dora etc and discovered one of my bunks had rusted so bad it broke off and fell to one side. This is after I launched the boat. Waded in waist high water to get the boat back on and limp back to the house. Now the work begins.

Sorry to hear about your bad start to what could of been a good day fishing. I went Saturday am to my favorite spot & caught 6 small specks & a gar - all throwbacks so no pics but anyday fishing is good. I took a longtime friend from Canada with me & we had a great time counting alligators. I think the fish could smell us sweating, water was dirty & temp at 88 - like a hot bath. Anyway hope your fix is as painless & inexpensive as possible & you can get back out there soon.![]()
Bummer about the bunk man. You didn't mention anything about the fishing so I'm taken it that it was a bummer to. Will be down there this Friday morning about 6:00am.
THE BEST TIME TO FISH IS WHEN IT'S RAINING AND WHEN IT'S NOT RAINING
Got the hardware this afternoon and plan to get her going in the morning...just in time for my son to borrow her for a scalloping trip! Not a super big job and I'm glad it went to h$%# with me before my son got off on a trip and happen to him. He's like his mom , CALL DAD, then I would have had to drive to Stienhattchee and save the day! I did make a round in Carlton and did zip...had some poles go down......saw two other boats and watched them pick up a dink or two. Water is still down about 2 feet and GREEN. I don't think there is any flow at all. Russ give me a call and we'll do Chili's or something Friday night.
Be good to see you,
Mike
Mike, sorry to hear your troubles but could always be worse like you said.
Glad you did not have any boat damage either, could have been a real bad day..........
Been there, done that........ and I though it was just the kiss of death by fishing with CrappieloverDUCKTAPE never leave home without it. Glad to hear all worked out Mike........Went with huntinslabs advise and got the cypress
hopefully the last problem with my bunks for a long time.

Oh yeah, I remember when the same thing happened to you Stu. You were like McGuyver with duck tape!
