Days like that are nothing but Irreplaceable memories! Some of my earlies memories are fishing with my Dad, and even thoe we live 20 hours apart we make sure we get to fish together at least once a year. (for crappie of course) Spent four day on Lake Blackshear this year. Fishing with your Dad keeps everyone young.
just a quick story remembering dad! me and dad usally fished once a year in a little 14' jon boat on lake okeechobee. as years passed we usally changed position so i could use the trolling motor which meant standing up in the boat and sliding by each other holding on to each other. time came where i thought it may not be a good idea anymore, so i told my dad to remain seated and i would pull the boat up on the bank of the rim canal. you guessed it--- three feet from the bank he stood up when i made contact with the shore over the front he went. all i could see was the bottom of his feet. once i knew he wasnt hurt we had a good laugh!! he never did get that okeechobee muck out of those overalls/memories last forever
Sounds like your dad and you had a real good time. You don't have to catch anything to make memories. Make all the memories with your dad that you can, you have no idea how much you will miss him till he is gone.
As has been said, I would give anything for one more trip with my dad too.

Thanks to everyone's comments about my post. I plan to take him again real soon and hopefully we'll have some fish to pics of.
